VIDA Training

VIDA have been delivering training related to domestic and sexual abuse in South Yorkshire since 1995 and have an excellent reputation for developing new programmes in response to the ever changing needs of practitioners across all sectors, and the need for more sophisticated levels of training and professional awareness.

The VIDA Director is also an associate trainer with Women's Aid and SafeLives, assisting them to deliver their specialist training in different parts of the country. In 2016-17 this includes training Police forces to understand and gather evidence of coercive controlling behaviour, to support prosecutions under the new legislation.

Building on this experience, Vida have developed a new local training programme titled: Why don't they just leave? understanding coercive control
